BSW disproves information concerning «problems» with Byelorussian wire rod at Polish market

On December, 20, 2016 daily Polish newspaper «Rzeczpospolita» published an article with the title «European Community is going to protect steel market» and included inadequate information relating OJSC «BSW — management company of «BMC» holding». In particular, commenting the situation Chairman of the Chamber of commerce and industry, Stefan Dzennyak said: «We have just solved the problem with flow of rebars from Belarus to Poland and already faced another problem with wire rod from the same plant…». BSW being the only one manufacturer of wire rod in Belarus strongly objects to that statement.

According to Eurostat data, for 10 months of 2016 Poland imported 63 456t of wire rod. Byelorussian steel works for 12 months of 2016 shipped to Poland 6488t of wire rod (or 1,8% of total volume of wire rod sales) and that was by 17,3 thousand tones less than in 2015. In December, 2016 when mentioned above article was published, volume of wire rod supplies was 20t, in October — 86t, and in August, September and November there were no supplies at all.

Results of statistic analysis proved groundless of phrase «problems with wire rod from the same plant at Polish market». And the situation itself can be considered as a desire to discredit image of BSW as a fair supplier and honest player in the world market of steel products. In order to avoid mentioned situations in the future administration of OJSC «BSW — management company of «BMC» holding» addressed to mass communication media with a request to publish only reliable and true information   concerning activity of the enterprise.
