The star was named in honor of Byelorussian Steel Works

On July 19, 2015 the name ‘’Byelorussian Steel Works” was given to a star of Orion constellation. Such kind of present was made by the BMZ partner company Baltic shipping (Klaipeda) in honor of success and achievements of BMZ staff before Professional Day.

At present the certificate, that confirms the entry in International catalogue of celestial bodies and awarding to the seven-sized ruby star with a05h00m08.22s δ+03А°17'12.0" coordinates in Orion constellation, is placed in BMZ museum.

It should be noted that Orion is one of the most beautiful constellations in the sky. It is easy to discern a hunter’s figure among its bright stars to  the southeast of which blue Siriusshines,  to the  northwest – red Aldebaran. The constellation occupies the space of 594,1 square degrees and contains naked-eye 209 stars. The constellation is higher than the skyline and better to be observed at night from December to March.
