Development perspectives of new steel grades for automobile industry were discussed at BMZ
On March 23, 2015 the seminar “Development perspectives of new steel grades for automobile industry” was conducted at Byelorussian Steel Works. The representatives of Ministry of industry of the Republic of Belarus, of key universities and enterprises took part in it.
This seminar was organized to stimulate domestic enterprises related to automobile industry, tractor industry, agriculture machinery production to introduce new steel grades into production, including those meeting the European standards.
Now this work is very important because a new Bar & Wire Rod Mill will be running soon and its capacity is to manufacture a product from top quality steel for automobile industry meeting the European standards.
For this reason the Belarusian machine builders were ordered to consider the harmonization of standards as one of the ways to fulfill the set tasks. The representatives of such big enterprises as OJSC "BELAZ" - Management Company of Holding "BELAZ-HOLDING", OJSC «BATE» — managing company of the Holding «Automotive components», OJSC “Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant”, OJSC “BELCARD”, OJSC “Minsk Tractor Works”, OJSC ‘Heavy Forging Plant’ (Zhodino), OJSC “Gomselmash", JSC "Minsk Bearing Plant", the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, P. Sukhoi State Technical University of Gomel, Belarusian National Technical University, etc. took part in the seminar.
Welcoming the participants, acting general director V.K.Chernel called them to have an open dialogue. Deputy general director for technology & quality E.A.Peretyagina noted that BMZ always takes its customers’ requests into account and ready to cooperate with every company. As part of the seminar the participants visited a new Rolling Mill, Melting Shop-1, Mill-850, and Metallurgy Laboratory which is a part of the Central Plant Laboratory.
